Home Team Report: After last weeks hiding Staines were looking to install a bit of confidence back into there side, but things couldn’t have started off worse for the “A” team, Harvey losing heavily in the opener & then on the black in the second they were in dire straights once more. Connors next up wasn’t relishing the prospect of having to play the former professional Chris Barnard, in fact this was the third time these two have met in as many meetings over the past two seasons with Barnard taking three of the four frames played, in there opener Barnard was in first only to surprisingly miss a black off it’s spot leaving it in the jaws of it’s own pocket, Connors to the delight of his team mates punished Barnard’s error with a well crafted break of 50 only breaking down when a thin cut on the red got the better of him, after a few nervy moments when Barnard looked like he could well clear the remaining four reds he lost position from black to yellow snookering himself & the momentum had gone 2-1 Walton, Barnard who has no doubt seen it all before brought Connors back down to earth in the next with runs of 38 & 36 not allowing him to score a point 3-1. Last up was Fraser who on endless occasions over the previous few seasons has dug his team out of a hole, again he wasn't to disappoint, although not at his fluent best in the first frame he won it convincingly, in the second Darren showed why he is known as “Flo Fraser” by making an easy on the eye break of 47 & in the process levelling the match at three frames apiece.
