Home Team Report: In what is another tight season, this was a pivotal match. First up were Mark and Paul, both players were frustrated by balls always seeming to fall awkwardly and not allowing any flow to the play. Mark had some good visits early on and took a decisive lead, Paul was trying hard but was unable to string much together which allowed Mark to run out the winner. Next up was Steve and myself, just like the first game everything seemed to fall wrong and neither of us could get going. I made a very bad error with the rest after fluking Steves ball I tried to put the red in baulk and overhit the shot by about 4 feet! This left the red over the middle pocket which allowed Steve to make a nice 28 from then on I was always struggling to make up the deficit, Steve winning easily in the end. In the last we were all expecting Mark to do his usual demolition job but remarkably after just 4 visits the score was 82-0 to Dan who was playing some superb billiards. We were waiting for the onslaught from Mark and he compiled some nice visits nearly converting some good top of the table positions into decisive scores. The scores reached 146-145 to Dan it was squeaky bum time, then Mark missed a tricky shot to leave Dan an easy canon which he inexplicably hit too thin to leave Mark the game. Dan was extremely unlucky after playing some of his best billiards of the season. As always though a great evening in the company of the Woking team and we will be doing it all again on Tuesday night at the snooker centre in our rearranged fixture.
