Admin Report: Match played Tues 4 Nov Home Team Report: A routine and deserved win for our 'A' team in this re-arranged derby match.
Lewis has been riding high in the Prem stats so far this season. His only defeats have come against Billy Castle. He looked in blistering form from the off, making an inch-perfect break of 66 in the opener (with a possible 139 on). This is just one behind his season-best and also the highest made by an opposition player against us.
He again made the early running against Andy in the second frame, until momentum shifted. Andy responded with a 30 break to take the lead and looked very sharp throughout. After potting the yellow, Andy must have feared the worst when he simultaneously cannoned the brown in. However, although Lewis later potted the blue from distance he left frame-ball pink in the jaws and Andy levelled the match.
The third frame could have gone either way until Paul floated the penultimate red in from distance and cleared to the yellow.
Paul's shot selection was positive throughout both his frames and he's able to combine this approach with a steady and soft touch when in the balls. An early 23 in the fourth against Kelvin gave a hint of what was to come: a fluent 51 showing excellent control around the black.
I snatched at a straight forward pink into the middle and George compiled a neat 45 to ensure the 'A' team won the match by the end of the fifth frame. The last one of the night was closer: indeed, I led all the way but a missed black off the spot ultimately proved costly. George reeled me back in and showed excellent determination to take all colours from green to pink, including an excellent long brown drilled into the top corner.
