Home Team Report: Staines edged out Walton on a evening of poor quality snooker, although the performance on paper may have looked acceptable Staines needed umpteen chances to secure their victory, Connors started the night off in desperate fashion infact his display was dam right laughable & needs to improve rapidly or think about calling it a day, Dan Farahmand his opponent was dragged down to Connors level & wasn’t much better himself, he was presented with endless chances time & time again, he won the first frame on the black & the second on the blue to put Walton two nil up. Harvey & Ganley were next into action & that wasn’t much better early on either, neither player could string two balls together but eventually it was Harvey that rounded off with a 28 break to win a low scoring first frame, their second frame did improve & it was again Harvey that had two contributions of 32 & 40 to see off a below par Ganley to level the scores. Fraser played Chris Plater in his first frame & that didn’t take to long thanks to a 34 break which should have been considerably more but was enough to put Staines into a 3-2 lead, the last frame of the evening was against Simon Faramand & that seem to revert back to the story of the night “sub standard” Fraser did enough to give Staines a hollow victory.
Good luck to Walton Comrades in their battle to stay in the top flight.
