Away Team Report: Staines knock Addlestone for six, Connors & Sullivan opened up the evening, with both stuttering early on it was Sullivan who eventually required one of the three remaining balls at the business end of the frame, unfortunately for the home side it was Connors who potted a testing blue & in the process landing perfectly on the pink, with the black over it’s own pocket Connors drilled in pink & black for one zip. Connors was quick into his stride in the second & dominated the frame throughout, although allowing his opponent a slight reprieve when going in off after potting the pink to final yellow, the damage was already done, two nil Staines. Fraser was next up playing Veness, Fraser put in his best performance of the season to date when destroying the home captain in impressive fashion, After a opening safety exchange Fraser smashed in a cracking red from distance nudging the red away from the black & landing perfectly on it, he continued onto 64 & was odds on to sweep up, but with one red remaining he came be-twix & between & unluckily wobbled the final red with the clearance at his mercy, it was all about Fraser in the next also, a break of 36 early doors put him in control, with clinical potting & pin point safety play Vaness was chasing rainbows, for the first time this season Staines were running riot. Last match of the evening was Harvey against Flatt, their first frame was going the way of the home side as Flatt established a lead throughout, the turning point came when Flatt missed a routine final brown to the corner pocket leaving it in the jaws, Harvey didn’t have to be asked twice & cleared from brown to black to make it five nil. A deflated Flatt couldn’t stop the “people’s champion” in the last frame of the night & thanks to a 29 break Harvey racked up Staines first six nil victory of the season. Addlestone have an uphill task to stay in the premier division this season but I’m sure they won’t be in a “hurry” to depart just yet, good luck to them.
