Home Team Report: Honours were even for the second time this season between Staines & Woking B, Connors dominated his two frames against Pocock but some how finished one apiece, Connors hitting the ball as sweetly as he has all season barely put a foot wrong in the first & a 31 break started the night off nicely, he continued in the same vain & bossed three quarters of their second frame also, Stuart was struggling to find any sort of form & found himself twenty six behind with only the colours left, the turning point came exactly there, Stuart when attempting a yellow to the corner pocket missed but full ball snookered Connors behind the blue, Connors was left with a difficult escape & took some time to negotiate his route, he did it perfectly but unfortunately left the yellow on, Pocock to his credit dug a cracking clearance out from know where & shook hands in disbelief that he had drawn his team level. Harvey was next up playing Deardon, with both having chances throughout it was Dearden who controlled their opener & won it on the colours, in their second Harvey missed a red to the corner pocket & knocked the reds wide open, Nick took full advantage off this error & made a very composed break of 50 he missed a long red to the green pocket but the frame was as good as over & a few shots later Harvey said enough was enough, 3-1 Woking. Last up was Fraser against Monkton this was always going to be a test for the home side player since Monkton had been showing some good form leading into this fixture, Fraser didn’t allow Monkton any clear cut chances early on & a timely break of 27 was enough to reduce the score line to 3-2, as you were in the second & Fraser dominated proceedings just cleverly pinching points & running for cover, Fraser didn’t give Monkton a shot until he was fifty behind then finished in sound fashion to notch up his 29th winning frame of the season.
An enjoyable evening with some fine snooker thrown in for good measure.
