Home Team Report: Probably not the most inspiring night of billiards but everybody stuck to their task. In the first Dan managed to beat Mark with a solid display, Mark appeared to be potting well but his billiards was not at his usual standard and I think his mind was on other matters in Europe the sooner these football matches are finished with the better so we can concentrate on the billiards. In the second I played Mark and again although Mark was potting well his billiards shots were not coming off and like Mark F looked a little rusty. I played a bit better than of late and recent practice seemed to help, stringing together a few breaks that helped me take a good lead which I held to the end. In the final game Mark raced into a substantial lead playing some fluent billiards but when leading 116 to 44 that old proverbial "brick wall" loomed into view and scoring became very difficult having to face very awkward leaves. In the meantime Andrew started to play after starting very slowly and gradually eroded the deficit. Finally with Mark needing to 2 to win he unluckily missed a cannon and Andrew then needed 20 to win which he got with the aid of a very valuable slice of good fortune. Many people would have succumbed but Andrew stuck to his guns and played very deliberately to secure a win. Although the match finished after 11 we did have time to have a chat and many thanks to Addlestone for an enjoyable evening.
