Away Team Report:
After a good win last week Sunnighill brought Chertsey back down to earth with an almighty thud, Ford making his debut for the season gave Fraser a pasting, Ford punished Fraser after having two huge slices of good fortune in the early exchanges of their first frame, but credit where credit is due he was a break building machine on the night, with runs of 53,52,50 & 42 Ford had pummelled Fraser into submission within half an hour.
Next up was Walch against young Rich, Walch was forced to dust down her cue due to Harvey being in the “big apple” she was making her first appearance in the league for around 5 ½ years & has barely picked up a cue in that time, with plenty of chances going a begging Walch found herself 31 behind on the final red in their first frame, although she kept plugging away the deficit was too great & the frame had gone, the fourth frame of the night was taking an all to similar pattern to the previous three, again numerous chances squandered by both, but on this occasion Walch was in striking distance on the colours, the frame swung when Rich missed a routine green & Walch cleared to pink for a memorable steal, Samaritans have been alerted to watch out for a Reading supporting cue launching individual that was last seen wheel spinning out of a Sunnighill car park in a boy racer fiesta with a “I love snooker sticker” scratched out in the back window.
Last to the ockey was Connors playing Rose, it was nip & tuck throughout but the only talking point really was the pink & black, after a number of safety shots it was Connors that smashed in a tremendous pink digging down to screw off the side cushion clipping the black in the process on the top cushion to finish quite handily on it, the adrenaline must of still been pumping & a rushed black was missed, Rose couldn’t believe his luck & dropped in a gimme.
The last frame again didn’t set the world alight but both players agreed afterwards they thoroughly enjoyed the frame, with two reds out & the black in the jaws of its own pocket there was an almighty safety battle, a lengthy exchange with some top class safety it was Rose who was forced into taking on the only red he could see down the rail, he dropped it in superbly, Connors was given one last life line on the yellow, although needing a snooker he potted the yellow to lay a snooker on the green he never hid it as intended, Rose potted down to the pink for frame.

Extremely enjoyable evening with plenty of leg pulling in the post mortem after, can’t help but like the Sunninghill lads, they always leave me with a smile on my face, its normally at somebody else’s expense mind.

Harvey will be back for the next home game but the question is will Walch show her face again or will she leave it another 5 years….we'll just have to wait & see !
