Home Team Report:
The local derby ends in a draw !!
First up was Allen v Connors after a couple of easy chances missed by both it looked like a long night ahead, but it was Allen that took advantage of a missed black of it's spot, He rolled back the years & demonstrated what a strong league this is, by his own admission he's barely troubled the scorers all season, but not tonight he was pitch perfect in stroking in a break of 53 which was more than enough to put his side one nil to the good, the next I'll not dwell on too much as it was a little controversial but needless to say it was decided on the black, Connors needing just the brown played yet another poor shot to leave Allen to clear he potted brown, blue & pink but missed a straight black to the middle leaving Connors a tester to the black pocket, this was dewily missed & another pretty straight black to the same middle was left once more, Allen didn't need asking twice he dropped it into the middle thus putting the "A" 2 up
After the unexpected interval it was Harvey that blasted out the blocks smashing in a long red unfortunately for him landing on nothing, a few shots later he was in again this time with the balls open, just like Allen, Harvey was in the zone but on 54 he missed a sitter of a red when the high break was looking very vulnerable once more, this left Frampton a chance to counter, he potted a few reds with colours but came dead straight on the final yellow which was just behind the black spot his attempted deep screw with side to get on the green was beyond him & Harvey put the frame to bed 2-1
The next was a bitty affair Harvey was in front throughout but it was another that went down to the black & once again it was the away side that took it, Frampton cleared brown to black for a another steal 3-1
Last match up was the chairman versus the floster, neither player were anywhere near there best & I'll roll both frames into one, with endless chances being squandered by both the pair were becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of form, Fraser did enough to cut the deficit to one & the last yet again went down to the black, this time the 3rd black ball frame of the night went to the home side Kelvin's attempted pot to the yellow pocket missed & unlikely came back to knock the white ball into the middle pocket.
So honours even & with some of the other relegation battlers playing against the top of the table teams this week all in all a draw might not be the worse result for both.
